My second piece in a series of three depicting Irene Adler, one of two people who outsmarted Sherlock Holmes. For those of you unfamiliar with the story, Irene Adler was an American singer who became involved with the King of Bohemia, but, of course, the king would not marry her, since he was royalty and she wasn't. Five years later, the King was about to marry a different woman and Irene Adler threatened to send the photograph of her and the King together to the bride's family, therefore destroying the wedding plans. The King hired Sherlock Holmes to get the picture from her, and here I depict his plan: A smoke rocket was tossed through the window, accompanied by shouts of fire, and she immediately rushed to save the photo, thus giving its location to Holmes.
