I made this as a tribute to two different things:
To one of my favorite movies of all time
To one of my favorite composers of all time
With the Oscars just this past Sunday, I thought it would be nice to remember two Academy Award record holders.
Beauty and the Beast was the first animated film to receive a nomination for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy until 2010.
Alan Menken, the composer, is the only person alive to own 8 -count them, 8 - Oscars for Best Original Song and Best Original Score, all for Disney Movies such as The Little Mermaid [link] Beauty and the Beast [link] Aladdin [link] and Pocahontas [link] And although he did not win any Oscars for it, he considers his score for The Hunchback of Notre Dame [link] to be his best work, as do I.
